– is a system of religious beliefs and rituals that is regarded as an orthodox or spurious and with s great devotion to a person, idea, or thing.

The History of the New Age Movement
Two most dominant and influential eastern religious that lay the foundation for the New Age Movement are HINDUISM and BUDDHISM. It is advantageous for every Christian to understand the basic philosophy behind this two religious in order to better understand the New Age Movement.
Hinduism
The beginning of Hinduism can be traced to the period between 2, 000 to 1, 000 B.C.
Rishis
- History records that spiritual laws and truths were revealed to men
- Who were “spiritual” men living in Northern India
Brahman
- Hinduism teach that BRAHMAN is the infinite, supreme, absolute spiritual being
- Is a perfect God absolutely unchangeable
- Real God
- Cannot be accomplished in one lifetime, therefore each individual atman must pass from body to body, lifetime to lifetime, guided directly by the laws of karma. They called Reincarnation.
Buddhism
- was founded by a man name SIDDARTHA GUATAMA who later would be given the name Buddha or the “Enlightened One”
Siddharta Guatama
Began Buddhism as a protest against some Hindu doctrines which disagreed with the answers he received while being enlightened during his meditation times.
Buddha – 8 Basic Techniques
1. Right meditation
2. Right effort
3. Right occupation
4. Right speech
5. Right belief
6. Right aspiration
7. Right action
8. Right thought
Ancient Babylon had a Spiritual Religion built upon Blasphemous Promises
1. The deity of man – “I am, and there’s no one beside me”
2. A false belief in triumph over death – “I shall not sit as a widow, nor shall I know the loss of children”
3. Moral Relativism – “Hear this, you sensual one”
4. Esotericism or private enlightenment through mystical spiritual experiences – “Much sorcery the great of your spells.”
